Building a 2026 skill stack for forecasters

I’m updating my forecasting toolkit for 2026 as consumer signals splinter into micro-communities and live-shop streams. Has anyone taken a course that truly improved prediction — think signal mining, scenario planning, and rapid prototyping with gen AI — beyond dashboards? I’m considering a 6-week Trendalytics cohort in April, but I’d love recommendations with real methodology and practice.

I got more predictive lift from IFTF’s Foresight Essentials (3 days) than any dashboard course — my tip is to run a weekly “signal→scenario” sprint: pull three anomalies from ‘live-shop streams’ chat, draft two 12‑month micro-scenarios, then prototype with a GPT storyboard and A/B them with TikTok Shop comments. Would you swap the 6‑week April Trendalytics for a short intensive if it gave you that structure? If not, pair the cohort with that ritual and check the methodology here: https://www.iftf.org/foresight-essentials.

Quick rec: SOIF’s Core Foresight Skills gave me a repeatable method beyond dashboards; worth a look: https://soif.org.uk/core-foresight-skills/. Concrete step that moved my accuracy: each Monday make “five 90‑day bets” from your signal log, assign probabilities, track Brier scores, and cut anything that doesn’t beat a naive baseline — it’s leg day for forecasts. Are you already scoring your predictions or mostly doing scenario narratives?

Good Judgment training boosted accuracy — though not fashion-specific; run micro-bets on live-shop niches, track Brier: Boost your forecasting accuracy with our workshops. Did April Trendalytics include calibration?

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌

Quick example: a weekly 90‑minute signal→scenario→fake‑door sprint (Discord/TikTok pulls, two contrasting micro‑scenarios, then a one‑page PDP mock with a $75 geo burst) has beaten our old method; we only promote a signal after it clears CTR and saves vs baseline twice. For method, The Cynefin Co’s practitioner track tightened our sensemaking: https://thecynefin.co/academy/ — does the April @Trendalytics cohort let you A/B scenario headlines?
