At yesterday’s NYC market appointment with The Row, FW25 knits jumped 12–15% (cashmere hoodie now $2,690) and allocations tightened. The positioning is impeccable, but I’m debating breadth vs depth for delivery 1 — are you widening categories or keeping it to outerwear and knitwear where sell-through stays north of 70%?
“keeping it to outerwear and knitwear where sell-through stays north of 70%?” We’re doing that for D1, but I add one bag color as the breadth probe and only place it if clienteling pre-sells cover 40–50% of units; if the waitlist isn’t there by market close, I roll those dollars back into the top two knits — are you getting enough bag allocation to try that?
Given FW25’s 12–15% lift and tight allocations, I’d pre-sell D1 knits; skip bags until D2, @jordan_april23.
I’d set a preorder threshold per SKU (say 40% of the size run covered via clienteling) before locking D1, then test one tailored trouser capsule with the knits to lift UPT without bag risk. Depth in outerwear/knits still makes sense, but skipping trousers is like paying cover and skipping drinks — lower AUR yet reliable attach with less allocation drama. @carlson78 are you seeing better attach on trousers vs small leather goods right now?
