The fashion industry is facing a pivotal moment, especially when it comes to our fabric choices. I’m currently exploring biodegradable textiles made from lab-grown algae, and it’s fascinating how this could redefine the way we think about sustainability in our designs. What innovative materials are you all experimenting with, and how do you see them shaping the future of fashion?
I’ve been experimenting with recycled denim — it’s crazy how much waste we can divert while still creating quality pieces. You mentioned lab-grown algae, which sounds promising, but I wonder about the cost and scalability over time. Also, how do you think consumers will respond to these new materials in their everyday wardrobes?
The idea of lab-grown algae is super interesting! I recently tried using Tencel, which is made from wood pulp and is incredibly soft while being biodegradable. It’s amazing how these newer materials can blend comfort and sustainability, though I’d love to see more widespread adoption in mainstream fashion. Have you checked out @sustainablefashionhub?
